This week, I attended the Boston Globe’s “Working Mother’s Summit” (where I also spoke on a panel of “mom writers”).

The event was wonderful on so many levels, but the best part was that it just felt really good to be in a room of 300+ women who all know what it feels like to be a “working mom” (although let’s remember that #ALLMOMSAREWORKINGMOMS—some just work outside of the home and that’s who this event was geared towards).

So, today, in lieu of a normal comic, here’s a collection of illustrations that capture what was on my mind/what I learned/what I loved about the Working Mother’s Summit…

If there was any one person who stole the show, it was Badass Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. She kicked off the event by bringing her baby up onto the stage with her [because she didn’t have child care and that’s what you do when you’re a mom]. Then, when her daughter started rooting around on her chest while she was speaking, she starting breastfeeding right up there on stage—WHILE talking and holding a mic! This is what it means to lead by example.

At one point during my session (a session about balancing motherhood and creativity), one of my amazing co-panelists, Dr. Christine Koh, said the following:
