I Cannot Stop Making Comics About Sleep + Parenting.
I guess this is my lot in life? My raison d'être?
I know it’s Mother’s Day weekend so I should be posting a Mother’s Day-related post—but y’all, I just can’t look at another “What Mom Really Wants for Mother’s Day” list (even though I enjoy them!). Also, I feel like I’ve been there, done that.
So, instead, I made this comic about sleep (what else?), inspired by a text convo I had with my younger brother, Patrick, earlier this week.
Patrick and his wife, Caitin, welcomed their second baby a few months ago and are IN IT right now with sleep. Their toddler doesn’t sleep well and now their baby is up all night. WHICH I TOTALLY GET BECAUSE THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO US AND IT WAS PURE TORTURE.
Talking to him took me back to our hardest of hard parenting days [er, nights] and had me aching with empathy for them. Thus, since I can’t fly to Portland and help them out (which is what I want to do!), I made this comic.
Almost the same thing, right? (HA.)
Anyway, here are some more thoughts about sleep and parenting…
